ABSTRACT

This thesis is a part of higher diploma degree of English department at the Lao-Top College with the topic: Awareness on using helping verbs of students at Lao-international College. As we know well, almost of the countries all around the world use English as international language and a second language to communicate. And the part of speech is an also important part of English language.

       The objectives of this research are:

  1. To find out students awareness on using helping verbs.
  2. To find out how much the students use helping verbs correctly.

This thesis used the questionnaires as a main tool to collect the information and data from the participants. The questionnaires have 5 main parts. The first part is demographic data. There contained 3 questions such as gender, age, and class. Secondly, it aims to get an awareness of nouns. There were 3 questions. The third part is to get test questions on nouns both of its types and function. The fourth part is to see the how important the noun is in students’ way. The last one is to get the opinion of students on nouns

The research included 5 chapters such as chapter 1 introduction, chapter 2 literature reviews, chapter 3 methodology, chapter 4 result, and chapter 5 conclusions.
