ABSTRACT‌ ‌ ‌This‌ ‌study‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌part‌ ‌of‌ ‌higher‌ ‌diploma‌ ‌degree‌ ‌of‌ ‌General‌ ‌English‌ ‌department‌ ‌at‌ ‌Lao-Top‌ ‌College.‌ ‌It‌ ‌aimed‌ ‌to‌ ‌investigate‌ ‌the‌ ‌learners’‌ ‌behavior‌ ‌and‌ ‌ability‌ ‌towards‌ ‌using‌ ‌English.‌ ‌The‌ ‌participants‌ ‌of‌ ‌this‌ ‌study‌ ‌were‌ ‌fourth‌ ‌and‌ ‌fifth‌ ‌years‌ ‌students‌ ‌majoring‌ ‌in‌ ‌Medical‌ ‌Doctor‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Faculty‌ ‌of‌ ‌Medicine‌ ‌in‌ ‌academic‌ ‌year‌ ‌2019-2020‌ ‌at‌ ‌University‌ ‌of‌ ‌Health‌ ‌and‌ ‌Science.‌ ‌A‌ ‌questionnaire‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌main‌ ‌tool‌ ‌to‌ ‌collect‌ ‌the‌ ‌information‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌participants‌ ‌which‌ ‌consisted‌ ‌of‌ ‌4‌ ‌parts.‌ ‌The‌ ‌first‌ ‌part‌ ‌was‌ ‌personal‌ ‌background‌ ‌of‌ ‌respondents‌ ‌that‌ ‌consisted‌ ‌of‌ ‌gender,‌ ‌age,‌ ‌year‌ ‌of‌ ‌study,‌ ‌English‌ ‌level,‌ ‌and‌ ‌the‌ ‌most‌ ‌English‌ ‌skill‌ ‌they‌ ‌applied.‌ ‌The‌ ‌second‌ ‌part‌ ‌was‌ ‌consisted‌ ‌of‌ ‌8‌ ‌close-ended‌ ‌questions‌ ‌which‌ ‌aimed‌ ‌to‌ ‌investigate‌ ‌how‌ ‌their‌ ‌attitude‌ ‌to‌ ‌English‌ ‌usage.‌ ‌The‌ ‌third‌ ‌part‌ ‌is‌ ‌mentioned‌ ‌about‌ ‌the‌ ‌behavior‌ ‌of‌ ‌respondents‌ ‌towards‌ ‌using‌ ‌English‌ ‌that‌ ‌contained‌ ‌16‌ ‌general‌ ‌statements‌ ‌to‌ ‌find‌ ‌the‌ ‌level‌ ‌agreement‌ ‌of‌ ‌them.‌ ‌The‌ ‌last‌ ‌part‌ ‌was‌ ‌the‌ ‌ability‌ ‌test‌ ‌which‌ ‌consisted‌ ‌of‌ ‌30‌ ‌general‌ ‌English‌ ‌questions‌ ‌to‌ ‌find‌ ‌out‌ ‌how‌ ‌good‌ ‌they‌ ‌are‌ ‌in‌ ‌English‌ ‌knowledge.‌ ‌All‌ ‌the‌ ‌data‌ ‌that‌ ‌was‌ ‌collected‌ ‌were‌ ‌analyzed‌ ‌by‌ ‌the‌ ‌SPSS‌ ‌program.‌ ‌ ‌ ‌The‌ ‌findings‌ ‌of‌ ‌this‌ ‌study‌ ‌research,‌ ‌as‌ ‌the‌ ‌collected‌ ‌data‌ ‌was‌ ‌analyzed,‌ ‌it‌ ‌expressed‌ ‌that‌ ‌the‌ ‌medical‌ ‌students‌ ‌had‌ ‌perspective‌ ‌of‌ ‌their‌ ‌English‌ ‌using‌ ‌as‌ ‌fair,‌ ‌reading‌ ‌was‌ ‌the‌ ‌most‌ ‌frequent‌ ‌English‌ ‌skill‌ ‌they‌ ‌used,‌ ‌and‌ ‌spoke‌ ‌English‌ ‌at‌ ‌least‌ ‌only‌ ‌0-2‌ ‌hours‌ ‌per‌ ‌day.‌ ‌Self-confidence‌ ‌and‌ ‌shyness‌ ‌were‌ ‌the‌ ‌main‌ ‌issues‌ ‌for‌ ‌them‌ ‌of‌ ‌lacking‌ ‌based‌ ‌English‌ ‌knowledge.‌ ‌ ‌ ‌There‌ ‌are‌ ‌5‌ ‌chapters‌ ‌on‌ ‌this‌ ‌study‌ ‌research:‌ ‌chapter‌ ‌1:‌ ‌introduction,‌ ‌chapter‌ ‌2:‌ ‌literature‌ ‌review:‌ ‌chapter‌ ‌3:‌ ‌methodology,‌ ‌chapter‌ ‌4:‌ ‌result‌ ‌and‌ ‌interpretation,‌ ‌and‌ ‌chapter‌ ‌5:‌ ‌conclusion.‌ ‌
