ABSTRACT

This thesis is a part of higher diploma degree at the Lao-Top College with the
topic: “Students’ awareness towards Present perfect tense: A case study of
Academic of Economic and Finance” as we know well there are many countries
around the world use English as an international language and speaking is a very
important part of the English language.
 The objectives of this research are:

1. To find out students’ awareness towards Present perfect tense.
2. To find out what students’ thoughts are about studying present perfect tense.
   The questionnaire was the main tool to collect information and data. The questionnaires
   have 6 parts. The first part was personal information that consists of three questions
   such as gender, age, and education. Second, it is the awareness of the Academic of
   Economic and Finance students toward the present perfect tense. Third, it is the practice
   of using a verb, adverb to make the correct Present Perfect Tense that consists of 10
   questions. Forth, awareness of Academic of Economic and Finance students toward
   makes the sentence by using present perfect tense. Fifth, students’ thoughts about
   studying present perfect tense. Finally share students’ opinions.
   The researcher including five chapters such as chapter 1 was the introduction,
   chapter 2 was a literature review, chapter 3 was methodology, chapter 4 resulted and
   chapter 5 was the conclusion. The questionnaires were distributed in May 2020 to the
   students who were studying at the Academic of Economic and Finance in the evening
   sessions.
   As can be seen that the data was analyzed and we have known Academic of
   Economic and Finance students’ awareness towards Present perfect tense. The result
   appeared that the academic of Economic and Finance students are good at paying
   attention to learning English. However, the students should not be lazy to learn English
   when having free time in order to improve English skill and they should make friends
   with foreigners in order to practice or learn English with them when having free time.
